Taking the right classes at the right time is essential to successfully completing your degree on time. By meeting with your dedicated academic adviser every semester, you can work together to plan your schedule and make sure all your courses are in order.
Your academic adviser can help you narrow down what you want to do if you’re not quite sure what your major should be. They can also help you maximize your degree by exploring minors, double majors, and double minors that you could earn.

You don’t have to choose your major today, but it never hurts to start exploring your
options early. Take a few minutes to discover which programs at NSU fit your interests
and goals.
Explore Majors at NSU
Freshman Year
Explore all the possibilities, selecting classes in your general education program.
Sophomore Year
Research information about careers, talk with professors and get involved in professional associations on campus.
Junior Year
Learn more with internships (if applicable to your major) or get involved with volunteering. Aim for outstanding academic performance.
Senior Year
Make a career decision, explore graduate school, get letters of reference from professors and contact the Department of Career Development.
